Hulk Who Doesn’t Wear Pants (Second Update)
Hulk couldn’t help rubbing his eyes.
That orange-yellow ring looked like so much fun, and someone had even come out of it. Could this be the legendary trick of making a person appear out of thin air?
Banner had never taken me to see anything like this. Maybe I should grab that skinny guy and make him perform for me every day?
Hulk tilted his head and thought about it. He decided not to use too much force, since it wouldn’t be any fun if he accidentally killed him. So he switched Betty to his left arm and reached for the other man with his right hand.
After glancing at Hulk’s lower half, Old Wang sighed.
Sure enough, movies were all lies.
What kind of underwear wouldn’t burst apart?
Hulk wasn’t even wearing pants!
Public morals were declining. This was utterly indecent.
It seemed Fitz needed to research some ultra-elastic material. Or perhaps he could ask Dr. Pym for help and make a pair of Pym Particles underwear, the kind that could grow and shrink. That definitely wouldn’t burst.
It would be best if it were made of Vibranium. Otherwise, given Hulk’s combat intensity, it would turn to rags in minutes.
Old Wang raised his left hand and gave a light pat.
A massive hand of True Qi appeared and struck Hulk’s body.
Boom!
Hulk, who weighed over half a ton, was sent flying and landed a hundred meters away.
Captain America, who had only just emerged from the small woods, heaved in shock. Black Widow’s mouth fell open inside the Quinjet, while Hawkeye, standing atop a building, widened his eyes.
Naturally, they couldn’t see the massive hand of True Qi.
Director Wang had merely waved his hand. He hadn’t even touched Hulk, yet Hulk had been sent flying?
That wasn’t scientific!
That had to be several tons of force at the very least, right?
Remembering Director Fury’s instructions before the mission, Black Widow switched on the loudspeaker and took a deep breath. "Director Wang, this operation counts as a cooperation between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Shengun Bureau, so… mmph, mmph…"
Before she could finish, her mouth was sealed by True Qi.
Then Old Wang’s voice entered her ears.
"General Ross, Captain Rogers, have your people withdraw. Leave this place to me!"
Black Widow: "…"
She seemed to have heard that somewhere before.
Was there really any need to beat around the bush? He might as well have said, "The Shengun Bureau is handling a case. All bystanders, step aside."
Wasn’t he just stealing the boss? As if no one else had ever done that before. Was he not even allowed to say it now?
General Ross: "…"
He suddenly began to suspect that Director Wang had been lurking nearby all along.
Perhaps he had only shown himself after five Iron Soldiers had lost two units, so he could sell him two more—or charge a huge repair fee?
If Hulk hadn’t tried to escape, he probably would have waited until all five were scrapped!
Fine. Circumstances were stronger than people. He still needed Director Wang to deal with Hulk, and that would at least give him a decent way to wrap things up.
Otherwise, he would truly be left holding the bag. Who knew how many favors he would have to call in to settle this, and it would also affect his future career prospects.
Do whatever you want. I’ll just pretend I didn’t see anything!
And not only would he pretend not to see it, he had to make everyone else pretend not to see it too!
He sighed, then turned to the colonel he trusted most and said:
"See whether Blonsky is dead. If he isn’t, send him for treatment. Have the people at Gebang Academy in Harlem, New York, act immediately. Take Dr. Sterns, all experimental data, and the Hulk blood samples away. Be careful. Watch out for S.H.I.E.L.D… and the Shengun Bureau!"
After coming all this way, he couldn’t leave empty-handed.
There was no hope here anymore.
As for Dr. Sterns, he absolutely couldn’t let S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Shengun Bureau get there first!
Earlier, he had asked S.H.I.E.L.D. for help and learned that Dr. Banner, under the alias Mr. Green, had contacted Dr. Samuel Sterns, who used the alias Mr. Blue. Banner had asked him to help treat his gamma poisoning so he could live a normal life, and had sent him many blood samples.
Dr. Sterns seemed to have made considerable progress. He had even invited Dr. Banner to meet and resolve the problem completely.
He was an expert in cell biology and Gamma Rays. He had extensive research materials and a large number of blood samples.
Those were all good things.
With proper research, they might be able to create a second Hulk!
Maybe even the two hundredth Hulk!
Meanwhile.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Triskelion Headquarters, Director’s Office.
Watching the live footage transmitted by Black Widow, Hill suddenly said:
"Sir, now that Director Wang has intervened, the plan to recruit Dr. Banner will probably have to be shelved. Should we have our people at Gebang Academy take action and bring Dr. Sterns, all the experimental data, and the research materials back? We might be able to figure out a way to mass-produce Hulks!"
Egghead shook his head. "General Ross has suffered so many losses. It won’t do us any good to push him too far."
As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he knew better than anyone how much influence General Ross wielded.
He was far more than just an Air Force general. Behind him lay a tangled web of connections. He had powerful contacts throughout the United States military and government, and his ability to pull strings was no worse than Egghead’s.
There was no need to fall out with him over a doctor who wasn’t even top-tier, some mediocre research materials, and a few blood samples.
If General Ross really used his connections against S.H.I.E.L.D., it would be troublesome.
Hill nodded, understanding what her superior meant.
S.H.I.E.L.D. only had five people at Gebang Academy, while General Ross had deployed over a hundred.
They couldn’t win that fight!
The director was indeed the director. Truly wise!
Culver University, athletic field lawn.
Hulk was furious.
He had actually been slapped away by a little runt. How could he tolerate that?
He tossed the pretty girl in his arms onto the ground, clenched his fists, glared, bared his teeth, and charged at Old Wang.
How could women possibly be more fun than the guy across from him? How could they be more fun than making people appear out of thin air?
Old Wang stood with his hands behind his back.
As he watched Hulk charge toward him, he rubbed the index and middle fingers of his left hand against the Sling Ring on his right hand. The orange-yellow portal behind him instantly expanded, and the scene beyond it abruptly changed from the central plaza of Azeroth Laboratory to the clouds above the high seas outside San Juan.
Then he sidestepped.
Watching Hulk charge into the portal, Old Wang smiled faintly, waved at General Ross and Captain America, then beckoned Betty over and pulled her to him. He took one step back and entered the portal.
The next instant, the portal vanished.
Watching the vanished portal, General Ross looked utterly lost. His entire expression turned awful.
Hulk was gone.
Fine. He had known this would happen. He had prepared himself mentally. This wasn’t the worst possible outcome.
But the problem was, why had Director Wang taken his daughter too?
What was he trying to do?
My daughter is so much older than him. This isn’t appropriate!
The Quinjet soon landed. Captain America and Hawkeye boarded, and it took off.
The three looked at one another.
This mission could neither be called a success nor a failure.
Even if Director Wang hadn’t come, the three of us definitely couldn’t have beaten Hulk. Director Fury should understand.
S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Shengun Bureau were both subordinate organizations of the Security Council. They were family, so there was no need to draw such clear lines.
What yours, what mine? It all belonged to the Security Council.
If the Shengun Bureau got it, that was the same as S.H.I.E.L.D. getting it. At worst, Director Fury could ask Director Wang for some behind-the-scenes deal.
They were leaving.
Going home!
