I, Izayoi Sakamaki, Joined the Chat Group at the Start – Chapter 245

More frighteningly, it looked as though the Ishtar person had been using this body for a long time.

The other party seemed utterly flawless. Even when greeting the people around him, he acted completely natural.

A chill ran through Izayoi Sakamaki’s heart.

It seemed his earlier guess had been correct. This race was not as peace-loving and selfless as it presented itself to be.

Moreover, Izayoi Sakamaki knew that even if the original owner got their body back, the Ishtar people would definitely erase their memories.

In other words, the Ishtar people would gain this alien race’s knowledge without having to pay anything at all.

If things went smoothly, they might even be able to seize the other party’s body outright.

What a business with no capital required.

Izayoi Sakamaki hid the coldness in his eyes and said with a light smile, "Were you the Ishtar person who was in Gilgamesh’s body earlier?"

The smile on the other party’s lips widened. "Yes."

"Mr. Izayoi, what brings you here on vacation?"

Izayoi Sakamaki casually rubbed the little girl’s head. "There was nothing to do at home anyway, so I brought my daughter out to have some fun."

The other party glanced at the little girl, who had her head lowered, but did not care much.

She was just a little girl. What could she possibly do?

Of course, he could not show that on the surface. He forced a smile and said, "The two of you really are a loving father and dutiful daughter. I truly envy you, Mr. Izayoi. Something happened to my daughter before, and she passed away."

Izayoi Sakamaki replied rather carelessly, "My condolences."

The Ishtar person’s expression froze.

It had originally thought that familial affection like this would at least resonate with Izayoi Sakamaki, a human.

It had not expected him to remain so calm even as a father with a child, showing absolutely no empathy for such a matter.

The Ishtar person had no idea that Izayoi Sakamaki’s father-daughter relationship was merely something he had made up on the spot.

After all, to be honest, the little girl might very well be much older than him.

He was just an ordinary high school student, after all.

The atmosphere immediately became awkward.

The Ishtar person sat there, not knowing what to say.

Izayoi Sakamaki remained very calm. Seeing how awkward things had become, he helplessly decided to continue the conversation. "What happened to your daughter?"

The Ishtar person secretly breathed a sigh of relief. So humans did care about this after all!

It said indignantly, "Wasn’t it because of the Hounds of Tindalos?!"

Izayoi Sakamaki said, "Hm?"

At once, the way he looked at the other party changed.

This guy—its race had cruelly treated a mother, raised her child as the killer responsible for her death, and now someone from that very race was standing before him, righteously enraged over something like this.

Izayoi Sakamaki’s gaze sharpened for an instant before returning to normal.

He softly asked, "And then? What do you want?"

The Ishtar person’s eyes lit up, thinking it had truly persuaded him. It hurriedly said, "Mr. Izayoi Sakamaki, please lend me your power!"

Izayoi Sakamaki raised a brow. "What power?"

Even the Ishtar person’s voice trembled.

Clearly, it was excited that its goal was close at hand.

It immediately said, "Please exchange spiritual bodies with me!! Mr. Izayoi, your knowledge is the greatest power, and your wisdom is unmatched! Please, help us Ishtar people!"

"We Ishtar people truly need you!"

Izayoi Sakamaki sneered inwardly.

This need was founded on malicious intentions toward him. He understood that perfectly well.

The other party was undoubtedly planning to exchange spiritual bodies with him, Izayoi Sakamaki, and then simply never return his body.

It wanted to occupy his body, perhaps even gain that safe method of traveling through Spacetime without relying on others or replacing the Hounds of Tindalos.

That was what excited the Ishtar people most.

If Izayoi Sakamaki had not already known its intentions, he might really have been led around by the nose.

Izayoi’s Crisis from a Dirty Trick

But now that Izayoi Sakamaki knew everything, all he had to do was quietly watch the other party perform.

After the other party finished its impassioned speech, Izayoi Sakamaki could not help smiling.

Before the Ishtar person noticed, Izayoi Sakamaki withdrew that mocking expression and instead revealed an extremely sincere look.

"I can help you."

The face of the alien creature whose body the Ishtar person had exchanged into suddenly twisted for a moment.

Although Izayoi Sakamaki did not know much about this bizarre race that looked like a pink starfish, the expression on its face was clearly exaggerated.

Izayoi Sakamaki immediately said, "But I have one condition."

The Ishtar person stopped trembling and said very calmly, "Please say it. I can fulfill any request."

Izayoi Sakamaki was taken aback. "Are you sure? You do not have to be so certain. You should think it over first."

The Ishtar person said, "We can agree to anything! I personally promise this as the chief of the Great Race!"

Izayoi Sakamaki let out a soft laugh and immediately said, "Fine, then I hope Ishtar Dream will let me choose. I want to pick an Ishtar person who suits me best."

The Ishtar person froze abruptly. "Whom do you wish to choose?"

Izayoi Sakamaki said, "The person most suited to me—the one I find most pleasing to the eye."

"I want the person exchanging bodies with me to be someone I like best."

"As long as I find such a person, I will hand over my body without hesitation!"

Faced with Izayoi Sakamaki’s righteous appearance, the Ishtar person hesitated greatly.

After all, as the chief, it believed that it should be the most suitable person for the exchange, shouldn’t it?

But the other party apparently was not satisfied with it… Sob, sob.

The Ishtar person sighed, but still said, "Fine. Then I’ll take you to our Ishtar people’s Clan Grounds and see whether there is anyone you like."

"By the way, are you bringing your daughter too?"

Izayoi Sakamaki stopped and glanced at the little girl, who was still sitting there with her head lowered.

Do not misunderstand—Izayoi Sakamaki had not said anything to her.

She had simply been eating the whole time, keeping her head down without raising it.

Watching the little girl devour food like mad, Izayoi Sakamaki rubbed his brow.

"Forget it. It’s fine."

"We’ll go and come back quickly. She’ll be fine here eating."

After all, there was hardly anyone who could deal with this little one.

Anyone weaker than her would just be eaten by her. She was not picky about food anyway—she just ate whatever was in front of her.

Even if she encountered someone she could not beat, the little girl could immediately run away and return to the knuckle duster.

In short, the little girl was invincible.

Naturally, Izayoi Sakamaki had complete confidence in her.

The Ishtar person, however, gave him several very strange looks.

No wonder nothing it had said earlier had moved him.

So this guy was the sort who could leave his own daughter alone in an unfamiliar place while he went off to do something else.

Izayoi Sakamaki understood the condemnation in the Ishtar person’s eyes, but he did not care in the slightest.

For all he knew, this fellow’s emotions had been learned from other races as well.

After all, not even mortal enemies would treat a pregnant woman like that.

Only utterly deranged, unforgivable beasts would do something like cut open a mother’s belly.

Those were the kind of people Izayoi Sakamaki hated most.

But he showed nothing else. He merely silently followed behind the Ishtar person toward their Clan Grounds…

Along the way, Izayoi Sakamaki kept pondering one question—

How could he pretend to be weak, then let himself get captured?

He knew that these Ishtar people definitely would not rest easy around someone who possessed the ability to "travel through Spacetime without being discovered and captured by the Hounds of Tindalos."

They certainly would not be easy to deal with.

They would definitely believe this was Izayoi Sakamaki’s ultimate trump card.

Therefore, these guys would absolutely try some underhanded trick on him along the way.

Izayoi Sakamaki was not afraid of being tricked.

After all, they wanted his body. To the Ishtar people, that would become their future body.

At most, it might be something like… sleeping drugs?

Izayoi Sakamaki thought uncertainly.

When he arrived at the Ishtar people’s Clan Grounds, he could not help narrowing his eyes.

Otherwise, he was afraid he would not be able to hide his killing intent.

The pink starfish beside him was still proudly introducing the place. "Look, this is the Bone Tribe that we Ishtar people are most proud of! The kind that can pull up stakes and set off at any time~"

Izayoi Sakamaki softly said, "You Ishtar people really know how to make use of everything."

This so-called Bone Tribe was merely a cluster of tents of various sizes that looked utterly ordinary.

Although every Ishtar person who emerged appeared to belong to a different race, each of them wore an accessory—either embedded in their forehead or hanging from their wrist or neck.

They were bones of varying sizes.

Izayoi Sakamaki instinctively looked at the pink starfish beside him, then narrowed his eyes.

It pulled a skull from somewhere and wore it over its face.

Taking a Feather as an Imperial Decree

The enormous dog-like skull clearly could not fit over the starfish’s pointed head. The whole skull swayed unsteadily, giving off the bizarre impression of some kind of toy.

Izayoi Sakamaki frowned deeply and asked, "What is this?"

The Ishtar person laughed heartily. "You’ll find out soon enough!"

Just as Izayoi Sakamaki was about to speak, he suddenly felt a fierce gust of wind from behind his head.

In an instant, Izayoi Sakamaki’s vision went black, and he lost consciousness.

Before his eyes closed, he vaguely saw deep green flames.

Izayoi Sakamaki could not help curling his lips into a smile.

Meanwhile, the little girl who had been stuffing herself with food suddenly paused, then wiped her mouth.
