Inhumans, Conspiracy
"It’s finished."
Wang Bert drew a circle with one hand. On the other side was the Treasure Vault of Blood God Manor. He picked up a battle blade from a rack and tossed it to Blade. "Pure Vibranium. Worth over a hundred million dollars. Don’t sell it."
Blade excitedly caught the Vibranium battle blade. "Do I look like that kind of person?"
Wang Bert stared at Blade’s sunglasses without saying a word. Blade immediately looked a little awkward. "That was legal income. By the way, ‘Blood Clan Police Department’ is already in its third season. Can my appearance fee for the sunglasses go up a little?"
"You tell me? Hurry back and get ready," Wang Bert said irritably.
Blade shrugged and left with the Vibranium battle blade. Mercury shook her head and rose to say goodbye. Just then, a call came from the surveillance room. "President, someone is infiltrating Osborn Tower."
"Who’s so tired of living?"
Wang Bert was a little surprised. He turned on the surveillance feed and saw Skye gripping an elevator cable and climbing upward with all her strength.
"Has this girl watched too many spy movies?"
Wang Bert shook his head and said to Mercury, "Bring her up."
"Okay."
Mercury asked no questions. She took another elevator to the fifth floor, used her authorization to open the elevator doors, and said to the panicked Skye below, "The Blood God requests your presence upstairs."
Skye was instantly embarrassed. She climbed up to the fifth floor and said, "If I said I was just here to work out, would you believe me?"
"The Blood God likes beautiful women," Mercury said expressionlessly. "If you entered his room naked, he’d believe you."
"In your dreams."
Skye snorted and followed Mercury toward the chairman’s office.
Leaning back in his chair, Wang Bert asked in confusion, "Miss Skye, if you wanted to see me, couldn’t you just call my secretary? Why sneak around like this? If I didn’t know you, you’d already be dead."
Skye took a sip of the tea brought by the secretary. "Big shots like you are definitely hard to see, and I couldn’t wait that long."
"It’s not actually as hard as you think."
Wang Bert said, "All right, what do you need me for?"
Skye got straight to the point. "First, thank you for saving my life during the Battle of Manhattan. Second, I want to ask why you had Coulson recruit me into S.H.I.E.L.D. when it was on the verge of destruction."
"That guy Coulson really can’t be trusted. And I even promoted him to deputy director."
Wang Bert said, "As for your situation, you wouldn’t believe me even if I told you, so I won’t waste my breath."
Skye was speechless. "How do you know I won’t believe you if you don’t tell me? Maybe I would?"
Wang Bert smiled. "Anything else? If not, you can leave."
"You big shots just love being mysterious."
Skye was quite annoyed. "Someone asked me to become a mole by your side. In fact, that was the main reason I came today."
"Hmm?"
Wang Bert was stunned. He asked coldly, "Nick Fury or Coulson?"
Had those two gotten too full of themselves, or did they think the Blood God couldn’t lift a blade anymore? "Neither. It was a mysterious man who can use Teleportation and has no eyes."
Skye confessed, "He said he had information about my parents. As long as I helped him as a mole, he’d give me the information."
"A mysterious man with no eyes who can use Teleportation?"
Wang Bert was stunned. Wasn’t that Eyeless Gordon, one of Skye’s mother Jiaying’s subordinates?
The question was, why had Jiaying sent Skye to spy on him, even using her own information as leverage? Was it because of the Obelisk, or the Teleportation Stone?
After thinking for a moment, Wang Bert asked, "Why did you tell me directly?"
"I told Coulson about it, and Coulson told me to come clean to you," Skye said. "He said he didn’t want to see my body sink into the sea."
"Coulson is slandering me again. When have I ever killed someone and dumped them in the ocean?"
Wang Bert said irritably. Skye smiled. "Of course you haven’t. You’re a Super Hero…"
Wang Bert continued, "I throw them into incinerators, all right? It guarantees they’re one hundred percent dead and it’s environmentally friendly. Oh, and by the way, every crematorium in New York City belongs to me."
Skye stared at him in shock. Weren’t you a Super Hero? Why were you so good at disposing of bodies? And why did you buy so many crematoriums? Just how many bodies did you have to burn?
Wang Bert’s image in Skye’s heart collapsed a little—Skye had actually admired Wang Bert somewhat. After all, he was so powerful and had saved her life.
"Enough about that."
Wang Bert asked, "Skye, what do you and Coulson plan to do?"
"We want to play along," Skye said. "On one hand, we’ll obtain information about my parents. On the other, we’ll cast a long line to catch a big fish and figure out the force behind Eyeless Gordon. They clearly mean Mr. Wang harm."
Wang Bert stroked his chin. "That’s a little troublesome."
"It’s not troublesome."
Skye hurriedly said, "Mr. Wang, just let me stay by your side. We’ll handle everything else ourselves."
"That’s not the trouble I mean."
Wang Bert shook his head. "How about this? You’ll be seconded to work under me and help take care of my three apprentices, but your employment relationship will remain with Coulson."
Skye asked in confusion, "Why emphasize that?"
"Of course, to avoid being cursed by you," Wang Bert thought to himself. He personally was not too worried about it, but his family business was vast. One careless mistake could mean losses of several billion dollars.
"You may leave. Work starts at eight tomorrow morning."
Wang Bert raised his teacup. "Also, no weapons on you. You’re only a maid, not a bodyguard."
Seeing that Wang Bert had no intention of saying more, Skye stood up. "All right."
After Skye left, Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. "The Inhumans? What exactly is that woman Jiaying planning?"
In Marvel World, Satan was not the name of a particular Demon King, but a title for Hell’s ruler. The current Satan had been severely injured and was near death for certain reasons, and was currently hiding deep in Hell, barely clinging to life.
The Satan Throne, a symbolic representation of the Hell Lord, was therefore left vacant. When the Hell Lords needed to discuss matters, they would often hold meetings here.
Today, Mephisto had invited the other lords here. He cast a burning gaze at the Satan Throne above, then said to the gathered Hell Lords, "You all know Ancient One’s successor, right?"
Lucifer, the handsome and noble Fallen Angel with black wings, nodded. "I know him. An arrogant Vampire."
"That brat isn’t just arrogant. He’s also powerful. If he keeps growing, he might become the next Ancient One."
Mephisto said, "When that happens, we’ll never be able to enter Earth again."
One lord said, "You’re right, Mephisto. Hurry up and deal with that brat. We’ll fully support you from behind."
"That’s right, we’ll fully support you from behind."
The other lords nodded one after another. Mephisto sneered. "Do you think I’m an idiot like The Beast?"
"Mephisto, we understand what you mean. The problem is that Ancient One isn’t dead yet."
Lucifer said, "As long as she lives, who can harm her successor?"
"Not necessarily."
Mephisto smiled. "There is someone—or rather, a Vampire—who can easily kill the Blood God."
Lucifer looked thoughtful. "You mean Dracula?"
"That’s right. The Blood God is where he is today entirely because of Dracula’s blood."
Mephisto nodded. "As long as Dracula takes back his blood, the Blood God will die immediately."
After a pause, Mephisto asked the lords, "Does anyone know where Dracula is?"
The lords all fell silent. Lucifer shook his head. "Ever since Dracula fell out with his daughter, he disappeared. No one knows where he is."
"No one knows."
Mephisto was a little disappointed. "In that case, we can only let the Blood Clan find him themselves."
The lords were puzzled. "Let the Blood Clan find him themselves?"
"Yes. I received news that the Blood God intends to unify the Blood Clan. Those Vampires definitely won’t sit around and wait for death. To survive, they will certainly go looking for Dracula."
Mephisto nodded. "However, with their strength, they might not last long. So we need to give them some help, allowing them to hold on until they find Dracula."
"Good idea."
After considering it, the lords decided to follow Mephisto’s plan. After all, it was a win-win proposition.
More importantly, this plan clearly had no trap.
After the other lords’ projections departed, Lucifer glanced at Mephisto and asked, "You diverted their attention because you’re worried they’ll help Blackheart deal with you?"
Mephisto shouted indignantly, "How can you slander me like that? Everything I do is for Hell. Heaven and earth bear witness!"
Lucifer elegantly gave Mephisto the middle finger and vanished. Mephisto snorted. That guy was no good either. The feather Blackheart had was a gift from him.
"I keep feeling Lucifer still has ties to Heaven. What happened last time was too much of a coincidence."
Mephisto’s eyes flashed, then he shook his head. The most urgent matter was to kill the Blood God first. As long as the Blood God lived, his plan would have little chance of succeeding.
Mephisto turned to look at the Satan Throne, his gaze burning as he muttered, "The next Satan will definitely be me, Mephisto."
"So this is Brazil? It’s so hot."
Mindy fanned herself with her hat and said weakly, "I want to bring out my battle suit. It has air conditioning inside."
"If you want to enjoy yourself properly, don’t do anything that attracts too much attention."
The little nanny Skye said irritably. She felt a wave of envy. The Blood God was incredibly rich and generous. He had actually made a small battle suit specifically for his apprentice. Even a small battle suit cost at least a hundred million dollars.
"With so many of us, wouldn’t we attract attention anywhere?"
Skye glanced at the men in black beside them and explained, "Those were your Master’s orders. To avoid trouble, the bodyguards have to follow us at all times."
Mindy sneered. "Are we afraid of trouble?"
"Your Master said we came here to travel, not to punish evil and uphold justice. There’s no need to let those disgusting people ruin our fun."
Skye said, "Besides, your master’s status is too special. If anything really happens, even the president of Brazil might come running over. That wouldn’t be fun."
Mindy said disappointedly, "Boring. I wanted to deal with a few gangs along the way. I heard Brazil’s gangs are really rampant."
"Actually, I wanted to as well, but your Master said it has nothing to do with us."
Skye shrugged. Just then, Lina returned carrying a huge pile of grilled meat and said excitedly, "Mindy, Sister Skye, eat some grilled meat! There’s grilled meat everywhere here. It’s practically Heaven."
"For you, wherever there’s food is Heaven."
Mindy glanced at the grilled meat, then reluctantly pushed it all toward Skye. Her weight was a little over the limit.
Skye accepted the grilled meat and looked at Lina enviously. "You’re lucky. No matter how much you eat, you won’t get fat."
"I’m not fat. Mindy is fat."
Lina giggled. Mindy flew into a rage and chased Lina to hit her. That little brat actually dared mock her? If Lina hadn’t been buying food everywhere, how could her weight have gone over the limit? Little Hela did not join their play. She looked at the bustling streets, her brows furrowing. "A world sustained by death and fear definitely wouldn’t be this lively, would it?"
Little Hela was somewhat lost. Was what she had always believed in right or wrong? Just then, Mindy returned while pulling Lina by the ear. She looked around and asked, "Where did Master run off to now?"
"Where else could your Master have gone?"
Skye sneered. She had once admired Wang Bert quite a bit, but after spending time with him lately, his image in her heart had completely collapsed—he was nothing but a playboy, changing women more often than clothes.
Not only that, the guy had none of a Super Hero’s sense of justice. Unless trouble landed right in front of him, he had no interest in playing the hero. Every day, he was either flirting with women or on his way to flirt with women.
Strip away all his halos, and Wang Bert was just a super-rich man who loved having fun.
Mindy sighed. "He went to pick up women again? I’m starting to seriously suspect that he brought us traveling just so he could pick up women all over the world."
"You can remove the word ‘suspect.’ He definitely came to pick up women all over the world."
Skye complained. Just then, a Cloaked Man hurried over from the distance. As he passed a stall, his cloak accidentally snagged on a nail and was torn off. The surrounding people immediately screamed in fright when they saw his appearance, and quite a few even turned and ran away.
He was clearly a freak who looked like a toad.
"A monster! I’ll take him down."
Mindy excitedly prepared to draw her blade, but Skye immediately stopped her and shouted to the bodyguards, "Take down that monster!"
At the command, the bodyguards immediately drew their guns and aimed them at the Toad Monster. The Toad Monster seemed frightened. He backed away in terror while explaining, "I’m not a monster. I’m human too. I’m not a monster…"
"If you’re not a monster, what are you?"
Mindy mocked. At that moment, the onlookers also came to their senses. One man shouted angrily, "Alien monster, get off our Earth!"
"That’s right, get off our Earth!"
The others shouted as well, clearly mistaking the Toad Monster for an alien monster that had invaded Earth.
The Toad Monster became even more terrified. He turned and tried to flee, and the bodyguards immediately fired at his lower legs.
Just then, a large amount of blue lightning formed from energy suddenly appeared around the Toad Monster. The bullets were instantly annihilated. Immediately afterward, a No-Eyed People appeared beside him, grabbed his arm, and vanished with him.
