Invincible Kyle

Chapter 295: Invincible Kyle

"It’s almost over."

Under the full-body Venom symbiote coverage, Kyle’s voice was icy, devoid of even a trace of humanity or emotion. Combined with his dark appearance and savage methods, he truly resembled a vicious ghost from hell.

Natasha and Sam stood respectfully behind him, wholly obedient as they waited for Kyle’s orders.

"Master. We’re about to send this Helicarrier out of New York City to crash. What should we do about the two people still on board?" As Vis raised the question, everyone’s gaze followed the deck, ravaged by shells and crashing fighter jets.

Smoke and flames raged everywhere. Steel craters blasted open by missiles and shattered aircraft wreckage were scattered all over the place.

Amid it all were two tall blond men. One held an Adamantium Shield capable of absorbing kinetic energy, while the other relied on a mechanical, technologically enhanced arm that could deliver several tons of impact force.

They were locked in a fierce struggle, evenly matched and impossible to separate. Their sweat and blood splattered across the steel floor around them.

"You don’t need to concern yourselves with Steve and Bucky’s fight. Their bond runs too deep. They’ve been through life-and-death situations together. Even if Bucky has been brainwashed, his subconscious won’t let him kill Steve."

Kyle saw it clearly.

The comradeship between those two had been tested for more than half a century.

The ultimate portrayal of love and killing—nothing could surpass it.

Kyle waved a hand and said coldly to Vis, "Send the command. Have this Helicarrier fly out of New York City, then land and self-destruct once it reaches some remote, uninhabited outskirts. Neither of them is ordinary. They won’t die that easily."

"Yes, Master." Vis nodded and immediately raised his antenna, editing the Helicarrier’s autopilot route.

Wasn’t that a little too casual?

Natasha and Sam exchanged a glance, silently mourning Steve for three seconds.

The Helicarrier trembled slightly. It stopped rising into the sky, broke away from its original triangular formation, and accelerated toward the outskirts of New York.

"The first one. Two more to go… Let’s move."

Kyle’s expression remained indifferent as he spread a pair of Dark Wings. After Vis clung to his powerful left shoulder, he stomped heavily off the deck, leaving two distinct dents in the steel plating.

A fierce gust of wind followed, along with a sonic boom that surpassed the speed of sound.

Kyle became a streak of black light as he shot off the deck, speeding toward the second Helicarrier that served as the connecting hub.

On the original carrier.

"Bucky, snap out of it! It’s me, Steve! Have you forgotten me?"

Steve fought while attempting to talk him down, but the Winter Soldier remained unmoved. His five mechanical metal fingers clenched tightly as his left arm, strengthened by technology, slammed powerfully into the shield.

The shield absorbed most of the kinetic energy, but Steve still could not withstand the force and staggered backward repeatedly. He only managed to stop at a hole torn through the deck.

The raging flames could not stop the Winter Soldier, whose heart was as cold as ice. Expressionless, he advanced, intending to kill the enemy before him who had stirred ripples of memory within his mind.

Thirty meters away from their battlefield, Sam asked Natasha, "Are we really just leaving Captain Steve behind without doing anything?"

Natasha parted her lips and let out a soft breath. "The Patriarch is right. This is the captain’s battle and his battlefield. It wouldn’t be appropriate for us to interfere. Trust him. He’s endured every war and every hardship. There’s no reason he’d lose to one of his own."

"All right, then. I trust him too!" Sam lightly clenched his hands and pressed the control buttons strapped to his palms. The metal backpack on his back immediately unfolded into a pair of steel wings, lightly beating against the scorching yet frigid high-altitude air around them.

"Let’s go. Hold tight." Sam took the initiative and extended his left hand.

Natasha clasped Sam’s hand and said in a low voice, "The Patriarch has gone to the second Helicarrier. Let’s follow him first and see what’s happening."

"OK." The engines in the mechanical wings started. Sam lifted off from the deck, pulling Natasha away from the first carrier as they chased after the path Kyle had taken.

The smoke- and flame-filled Helicarrier carried Steve and the Winter Soldier toward the setting sun, which was nearing the mountains in the west.

Two thousand meters above the ground, beside the central control console of the second Helicarrier.

Helicopters were parked close together on the deck. Four armed personnel holding guns surrounded the control console, vigilantly watching their surroundings.

Within the area they protected, Pierce stood alone before the console. His hands flew across the keyboard as he manually operated the controls, attempting to alter the program instructions just like Vis.

According to Hydra’s original Project Insight, the Helicarriers needed to climb nearly to the edge of the atmosphere before Hydra’s activation program could begin calculating and lock onto a vast number of targets across the Americas for precise long-range bombardment.

But before they had even reached the required altitude, before the calculations had officially begun, Hydra’s numerous bases had already been destroyed one after another.

Pierce had even taken off his suit jacket. The white shirt he wore was soaked with sweat, and his hate-filled, resentful face was slightly twisted as all ten fingers pounded furiously across the control console’s keyboard.

Symbol of Peace Kyle, you forced me into this! I have to use the entire city of New York to accompany Hydra’s brothers to the grave!

Pierce roared inwardly. Just as he reached the final stage of rewriting the instructions, on the verge of completion, a radio wave suddenly surged up from the floor and transmitted into the control console.

White electric sparks crackled and burst from the keyboard.

Pierce jumped in fright and pulled his hands back. He rubbed his eyes, then looked again at the computer screen. A trump card from a Demon Card appeared there, accompanied by a comical mechanical smiley face.

At the same time, a dull landing sound rang out behind him, as though something had descended onto the Helicarrier’s deck.

Pierce turned around somewhat stiffly. He saw a massively muscular Dark Creature crouching slightly on the steel deck. The moment he met its crimson eyes, his body and soul seemed ready to plunge into an icehouse below zero.

The Symbol of Peace had arrived!

The four armed personnel instinctively pulled their triggers. Their enhanced modern firearms sprayed bullets, blue flames flickering at their muzzles. The bullets became thin laser-like streaks, blasting terrifying pockmarked holes into the steel deck.

Yet when they struck Kyle’s tough, glossy black Venom hide, every steel bullet bounced harmlessly away, clattering crisply across the ground in a chilling contrast.

"Kneel." Kyle spoke coldly.

His sharp eyes swept over them. The four armed personnel offered no resistance. Under an overwhelming pressure that suppressed both body and mind, they dropped their weapons, bent their knees, and collapsed to the ground in terror, unable to move.

"Alexander Pierce, do you have any other tricks? If you don’t use them now, you won’t get another chance."

Kyle stood in place, looking down at Pierce by the console, a hint of mockery and amusement on his face.

At this moment, aside from the reclusive Master Gu Yi, he could be called invincible on Earth!

Pierce stubbornly clenched his fists. He was Hydra’s interim leader and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s current director. No matter what situation he faced, he would never lose his composure, much less bow his head or retreat.

But at this very moment, staring at Kyle before him—an invincible enemy—

Pierce’s teeth began to chatter. Every muscle in his body started trembling uncontrollably, and even the soul he had always believed noble and unyielding began to quake.
