Is This Job Illegal?
Afterward, Lalatina notified Sarah, telling her that Sonia-senpai had booked her for a month.
Sarah was somewhat surprised by this, but she quickly woke up.
Since she slept with makeup on, Sarah merely touched up her appearance.
Less than ten minutes later, she hurried to Room 9999, which she was responsible for.
When Sarah arrived at the villa she was in charge of and saw Sonia in a pure white long dress, looking innocent and captivating…
"Sonia-senpai, why didn’t you notify me in advance before coming?"
Once Sarah saw that it truly was Sonia-senpai, she spoke.
"I suddenly felt like coming to chat with you today."
"Besides, if you were working right now, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to ask you to chat."
"So I came over directly to ask."
"If you were working, I would have come back another time."
Hearing Sarah’s voice from behind her, Sonia turned around and replied with a smile.
"If you wanted to chat with me, why spend so much money?"
"We could have just talked through the communicator."
Although Sarah was happy to hear this, she still felt that Sonia-senpai was wasting far too much money.
"What I want to discuss with you isn’t something that can be settled with a chat over the communicator."
"I only have a little over an hour. Go get something to drink, and we can sit down and talk."
Sonia shook her head slightly and said with a smile.
"You’re leaving in a little over an hour?"
"You booked me for a month. Aren’t you planning to stay here?"
Sarah asked in surprise.
"We’ll talk about the details slowly after you bring the drinks."
Sonia said with a smile.
Sarah fell into thought and went downstairs to get some drinks.
As Sonia looked around the villa, there was a nostalgic look in her eyes.
At the beginning, Sarah did not understand the rules and was not very capable at handling matters.
So Sonia often had to come to this villa herself.
Back then, however, she came as an instructor to experience whether there were any shortcomings in Sarah’s service or etiquette.
After many years, she had returned to this villa as a guest.
Ever since joining the Void Cult, if she had to describe it as easy, it was not any easier than her work as a villa manager.
On the contrary, there were more things for her to consider than before, but Sonia enjoyed it.
Her only regret was that, because of her status, there were many things she could not do on the island.
A few minutes later, Sarah came back upstairs with wine and other beverages.
"Sonia-senpai, what did you want to talk to me about?"
After arranging the drinks, Sarah asked.
She knew that since it was not something they could discuss through a communicator, it had to be something important.
"To be honest, I came this time to find someone beautiful, tactful, and trustworthy to help me with some work."
Sonia got straight to the point.
"I’m very happy that Sonia-senpai thought of me."
"But could you tell me what kind of work it is?"
"Is this job illegal?"
Sarah pursed her sexy red lips and asked with a smile.
"You can rest assured that the work will not be illegal."
"The job is not difficult. You just need to help register the comings and goings of certain people on the island, and record where they are going when they travel far away."
"As for the pay, I can offer you 1.2 million a year."
"If you can later earn Mr. Kassadin’s approval, then even one million a month would not be a problem."
"The key is whether you are capable of handling this job."
Sonia took a sip of black tea, then looked at Sarah seriously and spoke softly.
"1.2 million a year before I’m approved, and 12 million a year after becoming permanent?"
"Why does the job you’re describing seem so disproportionate to the pay…?"
Hearing Sonia-senpai offer such a high salary right away, Sarah was tempted, but the excessive compensation made her heart pound uneasily instead.
"This job truly is not difficult, but you must guarantee the authenticity of the information you record. There cannot be any false reporting."
"You must also build good relationships with the other people on the island and know exactly where they are going when they leave for long trips."
"You’ll understand the specifics once you come with me to Void Island."
"If, after a year, you still fail to earn Mr. Kassadin’s approval…"
"Then I will pay you 1.2 million and let you leave."
Sonia said.
"What are the requirements for earning Mr. Kassadin’s approval?"
Although Sarah still felt somewhat uneasy after hearing Sonia’s words, she could not help asking.
"Although I want to tell you, if I reveal it directly, it will only make it harder for you to gain Mr. Kassadin’s approval."
"So you can consider whether you want to come with me to Void Island."
"If you don’t want to, that’s fine too. I won’t cancel the booking and refund the 300,000."
"Consider it a month-long vacation from me."
Sonia shook her head and said.
Sarah had to admit that she was tempted by the offer, because even without becoming permanent, one year’s pay was roughly equivalent to three years of work at the Celebrity Hotel.
But the question was whether Sonia-senpai’s words were true.
She did not believe that pie would fall from the sky for no reason.
Still, Sonia-senpai had specifically sought her out this time, likely out of consideration for their past relationship and because she recognized Sarah’s abilities, which was why she had given her this opportunity.
This opportunity was undoubtedly precious, but there was simply too little information she could learn.
So little that she could not determine whether Sonia-senpai’s words were true or false.
If the work truly was only recording information and preparing reports, then it would undoubtedly be very easy, and the compensation was extremely high.
But if what Sonia-senpai actually wanted her to do was not this kind of work, then she might step into a mire and be unable to escape.
"Sonia-senpai, did you come this time to give me an opportunity?"
After thinking it over, Sarah decided to learn more first.
"Yes. Mr. Kassadin asked me to recommend someone, so I thought of you."
"But even if I recommend you, I cannot guarantee that you will definitely pass Mr. Kassadin’s test."
"No one can understand what Mr. Kassadin is thinking, so if you want to ask me what you need to do to gain his approval, I cannot give you an answer either."
Sonia did not hide anything and nodded directly, explaining the reason.
As long as Sarah went to Void Island and initially fulfilled her own duties properly.
Sarah would naturally come to understand why others came to visit the Void Cult.
In the short term, Sarah might have some doubts when she failed to see anyone succeed.
So Sonia decided to give Sarah a year, enough time for her to understand the situation of the Void Cult.
If Sarah still failed to earn Mr. Kassadin’s approval within a year, Sonia would find someone else she could trust afterward.
Fourth update delivered.
