Relentless Fierce Battles
The collision between the Circle of Holiness and the Circle of Death made no sound. The two circles merged together and vanished at the same time, as if they had never existed.
Wang Bert held the Vibranium Spear and praised, "Gabriel, you have truly lived up to the title of Archangel."
"Blood God, you are even stronger than Lucifer said. It is truly hard to imagine that you are only in your twenties."
Gabriel said, "Heaven needs talent. Blood God, I am willing to give you one last chance. As long as you hand over the Spear of God and believe in God, I will forgive your sins and help you become an angel."
"I need your forgiveness?"
Wang Bert sneered and launched another attack. Seeing that he was stubborn beyond redemption, Gabriel snorted and met him with his spear.
The two then fought continuously in the air as if teleporting, each strike powerful enough to split mountains and shatter peaks. The white clouds in the sky rapidly dispersed from the shockwaves they created.
"A mere avatar can hold off Gabriel’s projection. Blood God has grown far too quickly. A few years ago, he was still a knockoff Blood God who could not even withstand divine might."
Lucifer watched the battle in the sky and sighed. After hesitating, he ultimately chose not to make a move.
Blood God had only sent one avatar. The situation was still unclear, and it was not the time to take risks.
Although reinforcements were constantly arriving, the angel alliance’s situation did not improve. Lorelei continued to wreak havoc, controlling male angels one after another and leaving them unable to fight.
Lorelei’s charm ability worked through not only her face, but also her voice. In other words, even without looking at her, anyone who heard her voice would still be charmed.
Furthermore, Lorelei’s voice could not be easily blocked, because it carried divine power.
Seeing this, Lucifer and Gabriel chose to send out only female angels. The problem was that there were too few female angels, and even after joining the battle, they could not turn the tide.
"Lucifer, we must deal with Lorelei. Otherwise, this war will be overturned by her alone."
As Grandmaster activated the Demon Altar, he shouted, "Whether angels or demons, their tastes are exactly the same as humans’. If this keeps up, how the hell are we supposed to fight?"
Thinking of something, Grandmaster cursed, "I told you this in advance, yet you people did not prepare anything at all? Are you all useless?"
"Shut up. We merely underestimated Asgard’s goddess of charm."
Lucifer cursed, then shouted, "Quickly activate the other altars and crush them with numbers."
"They’ll be activated right away."
Grandmaster took out a wine cup and offered sacrifices to the two Demon Altars. Both Demon Altars blazed with light, opening two new portals below.
Immediately afterward, vast numbers of Flame Demons and gargoyles rushed out of the spatial gates. However, they did not join the battle right away. Instead, they gathered nearby and waited for their lords to descend.
Soon, the lords’ consciousnesses descended. Yes, only their consciousnesses. They did not dare send their true bodies at all.
The Flame Demon Lord glanced over the battlefield and sneered at Lucifer and Gabriel. "You birdmen really are pathetic. Two against one, and you still ended up like this."
Lucifer cursed, "Shut up. Remember, don’t send out male demons."
"Since when do Flame Demons have genders?"
The Flame Demon Lord complained, "What, male fire and female fire?"
The Gargoyle Lord added, "We gargoyles don’t have genders either."
"Then get moving."
Gabriel and Lucifer were overjoyed and hurriedly shouted. The Flame Demon Lord and Gargoyle Lord did not waste words, ordering their two armies to charge toward the battlefield.
"I’m saying, aren’t you being a little too cautious? How could we possibly lose in this situation? Can’t we just lie back and win?"
Grandmaster shouted, "Hurry up and send out your true bodies."
"Wait a little longer, wait a little longer."
The three Demon Kings of Hell all chuckled awkwardly. Grandmaster rolled his eyes hard. No wonder Hell had failed to accomplish anything all these years—every lord was more afraid of dying than the last. How could they ever achieve anything?
Grandmaster could not be bothered to waste more words. After thinking for a moment, he began activating the Dragon Clan Altar. At the same time, he used a large number of souls to nourish the final two altars—the two altars were no trivial matter and had to be nourished before they could be activated.
Seeing the large numbers of Flame Demons and gargoyles appear, Frank said to Doom aboard the warship, "Doctor Doom, it’s your turn."
"Leave it to me. In my life, aside from Reed, what I hate most is demons."
Doom did not waste words. He teleported outside the warship, then pressed both hands downward. Two enormous spatial gates appeared, and vast numbers of Explosion Cockroaches flew out.
Once the Explosion Cockroaches had accumulated to a certain number, Doom pointed forward. The cockroaches beat their wings and flew densely toward the demon army.
"Doom really did come."
Lucifer and the others were not surprised by Doom’s appearance. After all, these Explosion Cockroaches had caused them plenty of trouble after entering Hell.
The Flame Demon Lord loudly commanded, "Cast a group spell and burn all the Explosion Cockroaches to ashes."
"Yes."
The Flame Demons answered in unison. They raised their hands and released the flames from their bodies into the sky. Then, all the flames gathered together, forming a super sea of fire capable of scorching the heavens and boiling the seas.
"Go."
The Flame Demon commander shouted, and the sea of fire surged toward the Explosion Cockroaches like waves. No matter how fire-resistant the Explosion Cockroaches were, before such a terrifying sea of flames, there was only one outcome: ashes.
"Looks like demons are not completely stupid."
Doom sneered and clapped his hand. More than ten semi-transparent cockroaches lit up, teleporting thousands of cockroaches into the Flame Demons’ formation. The cockroaches then beat their wings and rapidly crashed into the Flame Demons, exploding with booming blasts. Even the Flame Demons were blown apart and killed on the spot.
Too many Flame Demons died, causing the sea of fire in the sky to spiral out of control. It turned into dense fireballs that rained down, burning many angels and Fallen Angels to death.
Gabriel roared, "Flame Demons, what are you doing?"
The Flame Demon Lord ignored Gabriel and shouted in shock and fury, "These cockroaches can teleport?"
"You demons know how to use targeted tactics. Do you think I, Doom, would stand still?"
Doom sneered. The lords gritted their teeth. These humans were truly more irritating than the last.
"Flame Demon Lord, it seems you are not up to the task. You still have to rely on me."
The Gargoyle Lord chuckled and ordered the gargoyles to fire Petrification Light from their eyes at the Explosion Cockroaches. This Petrification Light could petrify more than one target at a time. As long as its energy was not exhausted, it could keep petrifying.
The Explosion Cockroaches were weak, making them perfectly countered by the Petrification Light. In a short time, great numbers of cockroaches turned to stone and fell to the ground.
"Excellent."
The lords could not help rejoicing. After fighting for so long, they had finally gained the upper hand once.
Doom snorted, and the teleporting cockroaches brought Explosion Cockroaches into the gargoyles’ ranks.
Before the gargoyles could react, the Explosion Cockroaches crashed into them and exploded with booming blasts. Large numbers of gargoyles were blown into pieces.
But to Doom’s astonishment, quite a few gargoyles did not die. They absorbed power from the earth and rapidly restored their destroyed limbs.
"I told you, I am your nemesis."
The Gargoyle Lord laughed heartily. As long as a gargoyle’s core remained intact, no matter how badly its body was blown apart, it could recover.
Doom narrowed his eyes but did nothing more. He merely kept sending Explosion Cockroaches to entangle the gargoyles, as if he had run out of tricks.
The Gargoyle Lord sneered, leaving part of the gargoyles behind to deal with the Explosion Cockroaches while leading the rest with the Flame Demons toward the battlefield ahead.
"Die!"
After making a fool of themselves earlier, the Flame Demon army was eager to prove itself. They fiercely fired explosive fireballs at the unmanned spacecraft. Though the unmanned spacecraft tried their best to evade, there were simply too many fireballs. Quite a few were struck and exploded with booming blasts.
The tide of battle began to turn.
"Well done. Keep sending troops and crush them."
Lucifer and Gabriel were overjoyed. The four portals operated at full force as great numbers of angels, Fallen Angels, Flame Demons, gargoyles, and all kinds of Hell beasts rushed out in succession, charging toward the battlefield with overwhelming momentum.
Every layer of Hell contained vast numbers of creatures. For example, Flame Demon Hell had not only Flame Demons, but also Fire Bull Beasts, Flame Flying Birds, and other fire monsters. At this moment, they were charging out in a frenzy.
Gabriel knocked Wang Bert’s Vibranium Spear aside and said smugly, "Blood God, you can’t even withstand four altars. It seems you are doomed to die today."
"This has only just begun. Who will be the final victor is still uncertain."
Wang Bert snorted with an ugly expression, though inwardly he sneered. A bunch of idiots. How could Doom possibly be that simple?
Aboard the Blood God, seeing that the battle was going badly, Frank said to Korath the Pursuer, "Korath, you control the Blood God. Ivan and I will join the battle."
Korath nodded. "All right, leave it to me."
"It’s finally our turn. My new armor can finally make its debut."
Ivan spat the toothpick in his mouth onto the table. It shot into the steel tabletop with a whoosh.
Frank complained, "While that does show off your strength, isn’t it a little unhygienic?"
"When the hell have I ever been hygienic?"
Ivan snorted. "Let’s go fight. I want demon sashimi."
Frank could not help shaking his head. He was fairly crude himself, but compared to Ivan, he was practically an aristocrat.
Then, the Blood God’s hatch opened. Ivan and Frank flew out with the Drone Armor legion, War Abomination, and War Lizard, charging toward the battlefield.
Tony, who had been watching the battle, could not help shouting, "Ivan, Frank, are you two insane? Your armors each have at least four Arc Reactors."
"Don’t compare us to a weakling like you."
Ivan sneered. "Tony Stark, I have already won our competition.
No matter how much your technology advances, the Mark Armor’s power will not improve much, because your body is too weak to withstand more Arc Reactors."
Tony said unhappily, "I’m close to developing a cure for the Perfected Extremis Virus. By then, I’ll be able to use at least three Arc Reactors."
"Three?"
Ivan grinned, and his Magic Suit fully activated. Eight Arc Reactors protected by Vibranium, located on his chest, back, shoulders, and thighs, all lit up at once.
Frank also smiled and fully activated the Arc Reactors on his body. Then, the Drone Armor behind him opened the cases in their hands, and a large number of unmanned turrets flew out, hovering around Frank.
Frank fully linked with the unmanned turrets, making him look as terrifying as a fortress.
Tony shouted in alarm, "Damn it, are you two really trying to get yourselves killed?"
"You have no idea how strong we are."
Ivan and Frank laughed loudly. Frank raised the energy cannon in his hand and attacked alongside the unmanned turrets, firing large numbers of energy spheres at the Flame Demon army.
Boom! Boom! Boom! The energy spheres landed among the Flame Demon army and exploded, violent energy sweeping through the surroundings. Vast numbers of Flame Demons died on the spot.
The Flame Demon commander flew into a rage. While sending Flame Demon generals charging toward Frank, he ordered the Flame Demons to fire fireballs at the Drone Armor.
"Weaklings. All weaklings."
Ivan flicked the Dragon Bone Battle Whip in his hand. Electricity coursed through the whip as it rapidly extended and bound the charging Flame Demon general. The Flame Demon general roared, and the temperature of the flames on his body surged, setting even the surrounding grass and trees ablaze.
Yet even such intense heat could not burn through Ivan’s Dragon Bone Battle Whip. Ivan pulled hard, tearing the Flame Demon general into several pieces that crackled as they fell to the ground.
The pair of whips had been made from Dragon Bone, Vibranium, Uru, and Magic Crystal by the Dwarf King himself. In Asgardian terms, they were divine artifacts.
Tony sucked in a cold breath. That Flame Demon general was at least as strong as five Captain Americas, yet Ivan had killed it instantly.
"Following Bert really does get you a lot of good stuff."
Tony said sourly. Though he and Bert were friends, proud as he was, he did not want to accept too much help from Wang Bert. He preferred to develop things through his own efforts.
Leaving Tony’s thoughts aside, after instantly killing the Flame Demon general, Ivan led part of the Drone Armor toward the gargoyle army, while Frank led the other part of the Drone Armor into a fierce battle against the Flame Demon army.
Under Frank’s brutal bombardment, large numbers of Flame Demons were blasted into fragments and killed on the spot. They had no time to deal with the unmanned spacecraft or the Clone Corps.
"Go die!"
Ivan swung his twin whips with all his strength. No gargoyle could withstand a single strike from him, and shattered stones lay everywhere in his wake—Ivan’s electricity could destroy the gargoyles’ cores.
Though gargoyles were strange, they were not particularly powerful. Technology could easily lock onto their cores.
War Abomination and War Lizard also joined the battle against the gargoyles. They were as fierce as ever, but their achievements were far inferior to Ivan’s.
That was right. Ivan’s individual strength had already surpassed War Abomination and War Lizard. The most terrifying thing about a genius scientist like him was that he could continue improving without end.
War Abomination and War Lizard, on the other hand, could no longer improve. Being eliminated from the top-tier legion was only a matter of time.
"Kill those two bastards."
Seeing Ivan and Frank display such overwhelming might, the Flame Demon Lord and Gargoyle Lord both flew into furious rages and sent more demons to assist. The battle rapidly escalated. The skies and ground were filled with the sounds of slaughter, roaring, screams, and wails.
Before anyone realized it, the Elders of the Universe’s side had already surpassed one hundred thousand troops.
"Your people are indeed strong."
Gabriel glanced at the battlefield and commented, "But no matter what you do, it is a dying struggle, because our reinforcements will only keep increasing. Numbers alone will bury you.
Which of Heaven and Hell does not have millions of elite troops?"
"In this universe, quality matters more than quantity."
Wang Bert snorted and ordered, "Black Bolt, there are too many enemies. It’s time for you to act."
