Revenge

"Hulk, well done."

Black Widow blew Hulk a kiss. Then, magma-like red light flared across her body as she shouted at Thanos opposite her, "Thanos, let’s see if that thing of yours still works."

"Courting death."

Thanos flew into a rage and threw an earth-shattering punch at Black Widow. She nimbly dodged, then clawed hard across his arm with her fingers. Five charred marks immediately appeared on Thanos’s arm.

"You really are tough, but no matter how tough you are, I’ll burn you to death."

Black Widow leaped up, wrapped her legs around Thanos’s neck, and flipped him to the ground. Then she held four fingers together and viciously stabbed them toward his throat.

Thanos accurately caught Black Widow’s fingers and twisted them hard. All four of her fingers snapped. He grinned savagely, preparing to smash her head apart.

At that moment, Black Widow opened her mouth and spewed a torrent of magma onto Thanos’s face. Thanos let out a shrill scream as his eyes, nose, and face were all burned away.

Amid the agony, Thanos swung his hand and sent Black Widow flying. She rolled repeatedly across the ground, then climbed to her feet. As she repaired her mangled arm, she sneered at Thanos. "Thanos, you’re nothing special."

Black Widow’s combat power was not particularly impressive, but her hand-to-hand combat skills were first-rate. More importantly, she was a top spy and knew better than anyone how to kill an enemy.

"Die!"

Thanos went berserk. He climbed to his feet and punched toward the source of the voice. Space suddenly rippled like waves and surged at Black Widow.

Unfortunately, Black Widow had already moved. Only a blazing Human Torch remained where she had stood—an expert at Thanos’s level retained extremely sharp senses even after his eyes were burned out. To fool him, she had to create a substitute.

Black Widow silently slipped beside Thanos, formed her hand into a blade, and chopped viciously at his arm.

If it had been anyone else, Black Widow would have severed their arm. But Thanos’s body was too tough; even she could only cut through part of his muscles.

Thanos grunted in pain and swept his arm backward at Black Widow. She rolled beneath it, then activated the Laser Weapon on her hand. A laser blade slashed across Thanos’s arm again, striking the exact same spot as before.

This time, the laser blade reached the bone. Thanos roared and continuously punched at the places his senses detected. Black Widow dodged while leaving behind Human Torches to interfere with his perception.

Like this, Black Widow used her abilities and combat skills to leave mark after mark on Thanos’s body. Her face was filled with excitement. Like a true black widow, she would slowly devour Thanos, her prey.

Elsewhere, Dr. Strange used Space Magic to drag Thanos into the Mirror Dimension. He said, "Thanos, Ebony Maw is already dead by my hand. Now it’s your turn."

Thanos sneered. "You’re no match for Ebony Maw. Kamar-Taj only killed him through an ambush."

"I’m the Sorcerer Supreme. What’s wrong with leading Kamar-Taj into battle? And by the way, they’re here this time too."

As Strange spoke, Wong and a group of sorcerers stepped out of portals, staring gravely at Thanos.

Wong asked Strange, "I didn’t get enough lunch. Will there be a celebratory banquet after this fight?"

All the sorcerers turned to look at Strange. They had been dragged into battle by Blood God halfway through lunch, and they were starving.

"Wong, ever since you became Kamar-Taj’s logistics director, Kamar-Taj’s finances have been seriously over budget."

Strange said irritably. Kamar-Taj’s sorcerers never used magic to acquire wealth, so they were quite poor.

"That’s why I’m asking whether there’ll be a celebratory banquet. If there is, we can save some money on dinner today."

Strange’s face darkened. "Enough nonsense. Work with me to deal with Thanos."

"Got it."

The sorcerers all nodded. Led by Wong, they set up a massive golden Space Magic Array. Then one strange pattern after another flew out from the array and imprinted themselves onto Strange’s body.

Strange looked thoroughly satisfied. This was Kamar-Taj’s support array, capable of transferring the other sorcerers’ magical power to him.

"Sorcerer Supreme, you’ve fallen."

Thanos said disdainfully, "Ancient One never ganged up on her opponents. She always fought groups alone."

"That’s why she worked herself to death."

Strange said, "I’m not like her. I like having my subordinates help me with my work. Besides, ganging up on someone feels great."

Thanos was utterly dismissive. "No matter how many ants there are, they’re still only ants."

"Sorry, we’re not ants. We’re the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj."

Strange cast a spell with both hands, sending Cyttorak’s Chains binding toward Thanos. Thanos grabbed the chains and tried to pull Strange over, only to discover that he could not move them.

Thanos froze and hurriedly looked at the chains. He saw Cyttorak’s mark upon them. In other words, Cyttorak had personally descended to help Strange fight Thanos.

"Cyttorak wants to beat you up too. My current magical power is enough to sustain His presence."

Strange pushed both hands forward. The crimson chains, almost sentient, tightly bound Thanos. Then Strange cast Vishanti’s Holy Sword, and a gigantic Seven-Colored Holy Sword viciously cleaved toward Thanos.

Thanos hurriedly dodged, but he was still struck by the Seven-Colored Holy Sword. Even Thanos was left with a bloodied, shattered head, the wound deep enough to expose bone.

Thanos was thoroughly enraged. With a roar, he used Titan Power to forcibly break apart the crimson chains. Then he stomped hard, shattering the ground and sending a terrifying shockwave at the sorcerers.

Thanos knew full well that to kill Strange, he first had to wipe out Kamar-Taj’s sorcerer group. Otherwise, even he would find it difficult to defeat the Sorcerer Supreme completely.

Strange had expected this. He circled his hands, and the space around the shockwave made a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn. Affected by the distortion, the shockwave changed direction and blasted straight toward Thanos.

Thanos had no choice but to throw a punch and shatter the shockwave. At that moment, the surrounding space suddenly fractured like glass, and a tornado appeared beneath Thanos’s feet out of thin air, carrying space fragments toward him.

Thanos did not dare lower his guard. He kept punching the space fragments apart while Strange took the opportunity to cast Shape of Isaac and create duplicates.

With the support of Kamar-Taj’s sorcerer group, Strange’s duplicates were virtually indistinguishable from the original, each containing powerful magical energy.

Then every Strange cast the same spell at once. A green Magic Array enveloped Thanos, and time began to reverse.

That was right—time began reversing. Thanos’s body rapidly grew indistinct. This move had limited effect against others, but it was extremely effective against Thanos, because Thanos had only been born not long ago.

"No!"

Accompanied by Thanos’s unwilling roar, he vanished completely. The Stranges all smiled. At last, they had avenged the beating they had taken years ago.

"You all hide. I’ll drag Thanos’s duplicates in one by one and kill them."

Strange shouted. The duplicates all nodded. "No problem. We have to settle the score with Thanos for what happened back then."

Wong sighed. "We have to eat something good when we get back. This time, we’ll probably be exhausted to death."

Strange looked at Wong speechlessly, deeply doubting whether making this guy the logistics director had been the right decision.

Leaving aside Strange’s scheme against Thanos, Captain Marvel was currently fighting two Thanoses alone. That’s right, two Thanoses. Frankly, she had overestimated herself. Under their combined assault, she had been completely pushed onto the defensive, with no strength left to attack.

"Damn it."

Captain Marvel gritted her teeth and could not help glancing at Thor nearby. The reason she had chosen to fight two opponents alone was because of Thor.

If Thor can do it, then I definitely can too. Women won’t lose to men. That was Captain Marvel’s thinking. But reality was cruel. Thor being able to fight two at once did not mean she could do the same.

Not only was Thor at the peak of the god-tier, he also possessed the king’s weapon, Stormbreaker. Fighting two at once was perfectly normal for him. To say nothing else, his axe held an enormous advantage. Others could attack Thanos for ages without breaking his defense, but one swing of Thor’s axe sent purplish-red blood spraying everywhere.

By comparison, Carol was still a little weaker, and she lacked a suitable weapon. Though she could condense a spear with Space Energy, that spear posed little threat to Thanos. Thanos’s body was exceptionally tough.

"If he can do it, then I can too."

Captain Marvel was about to activate Binary Form when an image suddenly flashed through her mind—Wang Bert using a small space to absorb Thanos’s power.

Master taught me this move before. I never managed to learn it, but now… I think I understand it a little.

Captain Marvel raised her arm to block Thanos’s fist. This time, she was not sent flying as before, because all of Thanos’s power was absorbed by the spatial light surrounding her body.

This move was Wang Bert’s self-created technique: using one’s own way to return one’s own method.

"So that’s how it works. Master is incredible. He could even create such an ultimate move."

Captain Marvel was overjoyed. She abandoned defense and exchanged blows with the two Thanoses. Unsurprisingly, Thanos struck her again and again, but she was not injured, because all the force was absorbed by her spatial light.

"Take it back."

When Captain Marvel felt she had reached her limit, she shouted and punched one Thanos fiercely, her fist carrying distorted space. Thanos’s expression changed slightly as he hurriedly raised both hands to block. The next moment, with a boom, Thanos was blasted away, his arms visibly warped.

"That felt great! I knew it. If Thor can do it, then I can definitely do it too."

Captain Marvel laughed. With this move, the situation was completely reversed. She beat the two Thanoses back again and again.

"Carol’s pretty impressive."

Seeing Captain Marvel turn the tables, Thor nodded in satisfaction. He had just been considering going over to help her, but it seemed there was no need now.

"Today, I’ll chop off plenty of Thanos’s heads."

Thor grinned savagely. Propelled by lightning, his massive body slammed one Thanos flying. Then he charged before another Thanos and rapidly swung his axe, forcing Thanos to retreat again and again rather than take the blows head-on.

"Die."

Strange runes lit up in Thor’s eyes as he slashed at Thanos from afar. Astonishingly, Thor clearly had not struck Thanos, yet Thanos’s head flew up on its own.

This was the Death Slash Hela had taught Thor. With the assistance of the Creator God CPU, Thor had successfully comprehended the move.

"Hela uses divine power of death. I use thunderous Destruction Power. This move should be renamed Thunder Destruction Slash."

Thor was very pleased with his performance. He hefted his axe and charged at the other Thanos. Today, he would kill to his heart’s content. Otherwise, he would be letting down Blood God and Hela’s training.

"Why does that dead fat guy suddenly seem so terrifying?"

Sylvie watched Thor chop off Thanos’s head and asked with a frown, "Loki, didn’t you say he was already useless?"

Loki looked thoroughly displeased. "He was useless before, but that old man Odin came over from the Main Universe and gave him a power-up. What could I do?"

Black Loki struggled to fend off Thanos’s assault with a hammer while shouting in dissatisfaction, "Hey, you two, focus! Stop chatting over there."

"Fine. Who would have thought we Lokis would get to be the main force one day—the most important main force, at that?"

Loki shrugged, swung his hammer, and rushed at a Thanos. The next second, Thanos knocked him flying. With a bang, he smashed through a wall and fell into a house.

That’s right, a wall. At this moment, dozens of Thanoses and dozens of Lokis were fighting chaotically in Asgard—Old Loki and the other Lokis had joined forces to construct a real Asgard.

Old Loki had originally only been able to conjure an illusory Asgard. But with the help of the Creator God CPU and the other Lokis, he had successfully turned the illusion into a real world.

In this real world, everything was real. For example, if a tree caught fire, it would burn fiercely.

Moreover, the real world had another trait: unless Old Loki was killed, not even Thanos could leave it.

The trapped Thanoses were furious. They frantically searched for the Lokis, wanting to kill them, but running away and illusion magic were what the Lokis did best. Combined with fighting on their home ground in Asgard, killing them was as difficult as reaching the heavens.

The Thanos who had sent the real Loki flying smashed through the wall and entered the house to look for him. Unfortunately, the house was empty. Thanos cursed and slammed a fist into the ground, causing the entire house to collapse, but Loki still did not appear.

Helpless, Thanos could only leave the house and continue searching for Loki. As soon as he departed, the house returned to normal. Old Loki was restoring the scene.

When Thanos turned back and saw this, his face darkened further. Just then, a figure appeared out of thin air and smashed a hammer viciously into his back. He flew out with the blow, crashing through the wall and falling into the house.

"Thanos, that hammer was payback."

Loki laughed smugly and vanished before Thanos could charge out. Similar scenes were everywhere throughout the real world.

In a one-on-one fight, Loki was certainly no match for Thanos. But escaping and enraging Thanos were things they excelled at.

"Who would have thought the Lokis could be this useful? If they weren’t holding back so many Thanoses, our situation would be terrible."

Steve sighed. Without the Lokis, this would not be a series of one-on-one fights. It would be Thanos ganging up on them.

Black Widow nodded. "This time, the Lokis truly deserve great credit."

"This proves that even a roll of toilet paper has its uses."

Rhodey said. The Lokis all gave Rhodey the middle finger, while Sylvie even waved her sword at him, telling him to just wait.
