Why Did It Have to Be This Mod?

Hearing the prompt sound in his mind,

Fang Mo secretly admired his own decision.

It seemed his guess had been correct. There was no need to keep setting his sights on Earth; there were plenty of mods in the universe that he could unlock.

The Kree civilization was the best example. He had not even landed on their planet yet, and he was already unlocking mods. This trip was definitely going to be another massive mod haul. He just wondered whether this place or mod paradise Asgard was more badass.

Thinking of that, Fang Mo began looking forward to it.

So he directly said to Rocket Raccoon, "Hurry up and find somewhere to land. I can’t wait to have a proper cultural exchange with the Kree."

"I’m never believing another word you say."

Rocket Raccoon lay sprawled over the console, panting heavily as he spoke to Fang Mo, still shaken.

There was no helping it. That interstellar drag race just now had been terrifying. If Rocket Raccoon had made even the slightest mistake, everyone aboard would probably have been dead.

"I only sped up a little. Why did that scare you so badly?"

Fang Mo patted Rocket Raccoon on the back. "A spaceship has to fly as fast as flying to be called a spaceship, right? Don’t be scared. Even if we really crashed, I could pull you all back."

"What exactly do you mean by pull us back…"

Rocket Raccoon was about to argue when the holographic display on the console suddenly flashed red, accompanied by blaring alarms.

"Hm?"

Hearing the alarm, Rocket Raccoon frowned and looked down at the display. "Well, now you can’t land even if you want to. This planet’s air defense network has locked onto us. The moment this ship moves, orbital Gauss Cannons will blast it to pieces…"

"That won’t do."

Fang Mo waved his hand. "We can’t not move. If we stay still, wouldn’t that make us turtles? Fly the ship… Isn’t this airspace nice and open?"

"Did you not understand what I just said?"

Rocket Raccoon said with a headache, "Those are orbital Gauss Cannons powered by the Kree’s Helium Core Main Power Tower. One shot and there probably won’t even be scraps of us left…"

"Did you not understand what I just said?"

Fang Mo answered with the same phrasing. "What did I tell Quill earlier? I said I could punch his father to death. That guy Ego was an ancient Celestial, a living planet… Do you understand what I mean?"

"What do you mean?"

Rocket Raccoon silently glanced at Fang Mo. "…You’re stronger than Tyson?"

"Looks like I’ll have to do it myself." Fang Mo took a deep breath, then used Gravity Field to push the Milano into erratic flight.

"Hey, hey, you’re seriously doing this?"

Rocket Raccoon grew nervous at once. "You’re not planning to destroy the entire Kree civilization, are you?"

"I could shatter Ronan’s Dark Star with one hit. Why would I be afraid of this?" Fang Mo asked. "Now no one can stop me from unlocking mods…"

"What?"

A shocked expression appeared on Rocket Raccoon’s face. "You shattered the Dark Star’s left wing?!"

"What?" Fang Mo froze. "You didn’t know?"

"We all thought that white-haired old man did it."

Rocket Raccoon said blankly, "You carried Drax away first. Then that guy Tivan immediately started showing off, saying Ronan knew nothing about the Tivan Group’s military strength and would regret it soon enough… When we flew out, we happened to see a beam of light hit the Dark Star’s left wing. We all thought it was his secret weapon."

"No, Drax saw it too."

Fang Mo was speechless. "Didn’t he ever tell you about it afterward? About how heroic I looked and everything?"

"Him?"

Rocket Raccoon rolled his eyes. "Is there anything in his head now besides toilets? Good thing his heart is big enough, or he would’ve shit his heart out by now."

"Damn it… You guys didn’t know about something this huge?!"

Fang Mo immediately became unhappy. He pulled out the Infinity Gauntlet and put it on. "Fuck it, I can’t take this. I’ll blow up the planet with one punch!"

And while the two were talking, the Kree planet’s air defense weapons activated.

The armored plates on the ground rapidly opened, and a mechanical iron tower as tall as a skyscraper rose from within. It was covered in colorful high-tech conduits. Targeting, charging, and firing were completed in one fluid motion. A massive metal projectile was instantly accelerated by a magnetic field to an almost absurd speed, too fast for the naked eye to see. It carved a magnificent streak of golden light through the atmosphere and shot toward the heavens.

"Attack! The attack is coming!"

Every alarm on the ship buzzed wildly as Rocket Raccoon hurriedly shouted, "Hurry!!!"

"Why the fuck are you panicking…"

Fang Mo complained, then raised a hand toward the outside of the ship. The five fingers of the hand wearing the Infinity Gauntlet spread open and slowly turned in midair. "No firing! Suck it back!"

A green magic circle lit up.

An unbelievable scene unfolded.

The crimson-gold beam had already left the atmosphere and was only a few dozen kilometers from hitting the Milano. Yet strangely, it suddenly stopped, then began rapidly retreating.

It was like a movie playing in reverse.

The golden beam shot back into the Gauss Cannon tower like lightning.

Then the entire tower began sinking, until even the ground plates closed again, as though nothing had happened.

"Th… This…"

Rocket Raccoon was so shocked that he could not speak.

"How about that? Pretty badass move, right?" After showing off his trick, Fang Mo proudly turned to Rocket Raccoon. "If you think I’m awesome… call me Awesome Bro."

"I don’t know whether you’re awesome or not."

Rocket Raccoon said blankly, "But I do want to say that it’s fortunate you aren’t a woman…"

"That depends on the situation." Fang Mo grinned. "If there’s a pretty, socially anxious yuri girl who wants someone to cuddle with, then I can be one too…"

"You can change sex too?"

Rocket Raccoon could not help swearing. "Fuck… Is there anything you Block People can’t do?"

"What changing sex? That sounds so crude." Fang Mo said, "It’s called transforming, understand? For us Block People, mere appearances have no meaning. As long as we want to, changing form is no more than a thought. I could even turn into you… then go sell crispy noodles on Earth."

"So you don’t have a true form?"

Rocket Raccoon asked curiously.

"I do." Fang Mo thought for a moment, then smiled and shook his head. "It’s just that… you wouldn’t want to see what’s hidden beneath this skin of mine."

"Why?"

Rocket Raccoon asked strangely, "Were you illegally modified on the inside too?"

"No."

"Then why?"

"Because no one wants to stare into the abyss."

"You said the abyss…"

Rocket Raccoon opened his mouth in confusion, but then another barrage of alarms suddenly erupted. He had no choice but to look down, only to find that the Kree planet had made another move.

"The Kree have sent a communication request."

Rocket Raccoon operated the translucent crystal display for a moment. "What are you going to do? Answer it, or…"

"Answer it first."

Fang Mo thought about it and spoke directly.

"Let’s hope these Kree have better brains and not water in their heads." Rocket Raccoon muttered quietly, then began operating the display in his hands.

Very soon, the image of a Kree appeared before them.

"Foolish invaders, I don’t care how you got here, but you had better surrender immediately. This is the territory of the great Kree Empire. We have the right to dispose of all property and liv—"

"Before saying that, you’d better ask your own planet what it thinks."

The other party had called them foolish invaders the moment he opened his mouth and was clearly not planning to negotiate properly. So Fang Mo dropped the act, put on his padded jacket, and prepared to go crazy. "Do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me like that?"

"And what if I don’t?"

The Kree on the other end clearly did not think much of Fang Mo.

"I am the famous Planet SPA Master." Fang Mo smiled without hesitation. "I came here specifically to treat your Kree planet’s Planet Will for sexual frigidity. I give you three minutes to leave this planet, or suffer the consequences."

"Huh?"

The other side was completely stunned. "What the hell? Did you come here specifically to make jokes?"

"You have two minutes and fifty-five seconds left to run."

Fang Mo reminded him.

"What kind of nonsense is this?" The other party was confused, but clearly too lazy to think about it any further. "Since you fools insist on courting death, I’ll grant your wish."

After saying that, the video call immediately disconnected.

"See? You can’t blame me for this, right?"

After the video cut off, Fang Mo turned to Rocket Raccoon and spread his hands. "You saw it too. They were the ones who started insulting us. I simply couldn’t refuse their hospitality…"

"Fine…" Rocket Raccoon sighed helplessly. "I thought I’d already seen enough idiots."

As the two spoke, the Kree planet’s air defense network had already activated.

Compared with the anti-air Gauss Cannons from before, the ground now had additional launchers that appeared to be helium-core missiles, as well as high-energy laser towers, plasma anti-air weapons, and other equipment. The Kree civilization truly was a military civilization. Those densely packed weapons looked extremely intimidating.

"They’re getting serious."

Seeing this, Rocket Raccoon turned to Fang Mo and asked, "Can you suck all of these back too?"

"Who the fuck said I sucked them back? They sucked themselves ba—"

Fang Mo could not hold back and began complaining, but before he could finish, Drax suddenly shoved open the cockpit door with an angry expression. "Who the hell made the ship speed up just now?! I couldn’t squat properly and sat right on the frying pan!"

At the exact instant Drax rushed in and spoke, something happened that Fang Mo could never have expected.

His System Prompt… rang.

System Prompt: You have studied the concept of ‘shit’ and gained download permission for a new mod.

"Holy shit!!!"

Recently, I’ve been researching and organizing new mods that can be written into the story, which has taken up some time. I’ve only managed one update so far, but I can’t hold out anymore. I’m not cooking today—I’ll order takeout and pick it up at the entrance to the residential complex to save time. I’ll make it up to everyone with three updates tonight.
